What Are Workflows?

Workflows are the core feature of Crewmojo. They are structured, guided processes that help organizations run people-related conversations and activities — such as goal-setting, performance reviews, career check-ins, and onboarding — in a consistent and trackable way.

A workflow is made up of a series of tasks assigned to specific participants (e.g. an employee, their manager, or both). Each participant completes their tasks in a defined sequence, and the workflow tracks progress from start to finish.

What Is a Workflow?

In Crewmojo, a workflow represents a single instance of a structured process. For example:

Each workflow is built from a workflow template — a reusable design created by HR or Admins that defines the steps, participants, and settings for that type of process.

How Workflows Work

Who Can See and Manage Workflows?

Role What They Can Do
Employee View and complete their own assigned workflow tasks
Manager View and complete their own tasks; oversee their direct reports' workflows; start workflows for team members
Admin Same as Manager, plus access to platform-wide workflow configuration and can start workflows for anyone
HR Configure workflow templates, manage audiences, and oversee all workflows across the organization; can start workflows for anyone
